Info – 100 km/h unbraked:

The following applies: For unbraked trailers, to drive at 100 km/h (if approved), the unladen weight of the towing vehicle must be at least 0.3 times the permissible total weight of the trailer (worst-case scenario). For a 750 kg trailer, your towing vehicle must have an unladen weight of 750 / 0.3 = 2500 kg.

If your vehicle does not meet this requirement, you can have the trailer downgraded (TÜV). For example, if your towing vehicle has an unladen weight of 1600 kg, the trailer must be downgraded to 1600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. With the reduced payload, you must operate within your vehicle's limit at any speed.

Additionally, the trailer’s permissible total weight must not exceed the unbraked trailer load specified in your vehicle’s registration (O2).

Notice - LED Lighting:
In some car models, LED trailer lights might not function correctly. This most often occurs in newer vehicles due to the low power consumption of LED technology. To ensure trailer lights work properly, your car or towbar must be fitted with a control module that supports LED lighting. This module is not supplied in production trailers by Lorries.
